Purchasing Agent

What qualifications do you need?

• Supply chain background
• 3 years of working experience in purchasing
• May consider a degree in lieu of experience

What responsibilities will you have?

• Receives, reviews and processes requisitions requesting goods or services.
• Processes RMA's and P.O.'s for Kanban items
• Communicates with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Perform expediting of orders and requests as needed.
• Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
• Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
• Reviews bid proposals and places orders within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
• Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchases, costs, delivery, and inventories.
• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
• May work with manufacturers or persuade potential vendors to undertake the manufacturing of custom designed items according to the user's specific needs and specifications.
• Work with the VP of Supply Chain to achieve special projects as required.
